Information
[Updated: 5 Aug]
Information will be updated here continuously, and we will notify you about all the news on our Facebook event page and Instagram.
Program
We will have three days of music, so please plan to arrive at the festival on Friday afternoon and leave the festival area on Monday morning. The music lineup has been announced here, and the program timetable will be launched on Friday 5th August 2022.
Location
The festival will take place at the most beautiful little farm in Numedal – the forgotten valley of Norway. It is called Søre Risteigen gård and is owned by a lovely couple, Helena and Kittil who you will meet at the festival.
Numedalsvegen 5749, 3628 Veggli.
Transportation
1. Shuttle Buses
We arrange buses that will take you from Oslo Central Station all the way to the festival area and back. This is by far the best option for all guests. It is simple, safe, cheap and environmentally friendly. More buses will be allocated if they are sold out. Find the tickets HERE.
The pick-up point in Oslo will be in Operagata, right next to the opera house. The exact location can be found HERE. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure so we have time to check tickets and provide you with a wristband.
2. Arriving by private transport
If you are planning on arriving by car, motorcycle or caravan, please purchase an appropriate parking ticket HERE. Every year, we are aiming to reduce our carbon emissions, and low-emission vehicles are therefore encouraged. Please also consider the option of lift-sharing with your friends and other festival-goers – you can arrange this via the MNMT Family group on Facebook.
3. Arriving by public transport
If the shuttle bus times are unsuitable for you, please consider the option of arriving by public transport. Entur is an online service which you can use to plan the journey and buy tickets from Oslo/Oslo Airport to Risteigen if coming by public transport.
Arrival times
These are the opening hours for entry to the festival. Please aim to arrive within these hours.
Friday | Saturday | Sunday |
12.00 – 19.00* | Closed | Closed |
If you have arrived outside of these hours, please park your car and head to the Main Entrance to get a wristband. Call +47 92533932 for help if necessary 🙂
Accommodation
1. Camping
Camping with your own tent is included in the ticket and there will be a dedicated camping area at the festival grounds. We encourage you to keep this space calm for those who wish to relax and bring the noise and party to the festival area.
2. Glamping
Pre-setup lavvos tents are a great option for those who can not bring so much luggage, or just want the experience to be a bit easier. The tents will be set up for you prior to your arrival, and contain both floors and beds. You will only need to bring a sleeping bag.
Please note: All lavvos are now sold out!

If you are travelling and/or planning to sleep in your car or caravan, you must buy the appropriate parking ticket HERE.

Hygiene
We will have clean and functional outdoor toilets and simple, cold showers which you can use for free. However, they are not celled so bring a bathing suit if that makes you more comfortable. There is also a fantastic river where you can swim and get clean.
Please note: Unlike previous years, we are introducing hot showers which can be used for a small fee.
SafeSpace
SafeSpace is a supportive space for guests undergoing challenging experiences that can result from substance use or over-stimulation. We acknowledge that despite a clearly stated non-drug policy, attendees can still consume illicit substances. Some may experience adverse emotional and psychological reactions, for which harm reduction principles of compassion, safety, and psychological first-aid are applied to reduce negative consequences and de-escalate situations. A team of health professionals and volunteers will supervise SafeSpace and offer guests a space to rest, hydrate, and catch up with electrolytes, snacks, and other supplies to help them have a more comfortable experience.
Haven
Welcoming you to a brand new space on the festival grounds: A cosy atmosphere with delightful sounds, live performances, a fireplace and local handcrafts. A perfect spot to rest and soothe your dancing feet. Yoga in the daytime, waffles at night. Loose attire recommended.
We love our nature
We are so thankful that we have the possibility to enjoy our beautiful nature with you, so we will leave the area as we found it – or even better! Leave absolutely no garbage on the ground, not as much as one single cigarette! We will have a clearly marked recycling station, both at the festival and camping area, and more garbage cans around the festival site. You can read more about our Sustainability Journey here.
Waste management
All general waste from the festival will be sorted and recycled at our waste management supplier Norsk Gjennvinning’s waste station – more information on the amazing work they do can be found here. Join us on our Sustainability Journey and follow the instructions for waste on-site.
We take care of each other
Most importantly: We treat each other like family at Monument Festival. We behave respectfully, help each other when needed, and give hugs when they are wanted. We definitely do not take things that do not belong to us, jump the queue or harass anyone for any reason.
Food and drinks
We will have several local vendors providing healthy and locally sourced food with vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore options. The service times of food & drink, the drink policy and information on our partners can be found here.
Cashless
We will not handle any cash at the festival. There will be no vouchers this year and we will use an electronic payment system to accept internationally valid debit and credit card payments.
Yoga and breathwork
Let’s start the day together. Connecting back to yourself, your mind, and your body. Wake up with smooth flows and movement accompanied by an atmosphere created by the first artist of the day. And through breathwork, we unify and enter a state of mind in the MNMT spirit that sets us up for the rest of the day.
Emergency and first aid
We will have an emergency team available at all times. You will find them by the info desk, near the camping area.
Accessibility and special requirements
We want to give all guests an optimal festival experience. If you have any accessibility needs, need help with storing medication, or if you require to be escorted by a service animal, please let us know. Write Hallvard an email, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Age limit
You must be over the age of 21 to attend the festival.
Public event
All approvals from local public instances, municipalities and police are in order for our festival.
Cancellations
We plan to have Monument Festival 2022 on 5-7th August. We are so happy that the outlook is very positive, although we acknowledge the uncertainty many still experience. If we are forced to postpone the festival, your ticket will be valid next year. In any case, we highly recommend having cancellation rights on any form of travel due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 regulations and international crises.
You can get your ticket refunded (except for the ticket administration fee):
• If the festival is cancelled
• If the festival is postponed, you can get a refund within the first 14 days after the announcement
• If the travel restrictions imposed by your country of residence or the government of Norway do not allow you to travel.
We at Monument have our guest safety as a top priority, and we will at all times follow government guidelines. You can read the updated policy from the Norwegian Government here.
Covid-19 and entrance
This year, it will not be necessary to provide documentation that you have either a negative test of Covid-19 or a vaccine pass approved by the Norwegian authorities.
Force Majeure
If anything happens during the festival that is out of our control and we are forced to stop we will try to provide earlier transport back to Oslo S. If it is safe to do so, you are allowed to stay at the festival camp until Monday and leave with the arranged transport then. We will not provide refunds after the festival has started.
